Yvette’s Game of the Week: New England Patriots at Chicago Bears
Everyone is asking, “Are the Bears for real?” Well I think this game will answer that question once and for all with a win against the Patriots. It’s now Week 14, and it’s safe to say one thing: the Belichick and Brady combo are as strong as ever. The Patriots are 10-2.
Last Monday, they beat a hot Jets team into submission. And can clinch a playoff berth with a win against the Bears.
But a win against the Chicago Bears will not come easy. Tom Brady will have to face the Bears and their 3rd Ranked Defense with Mr. Do-it-all Julius Peppers and the veteran Brian Urlacher. The Patriots will have a lot on their hand.
Jay Cutler on the other hand, faces the Patriots defense that is 31st against the pass, which bolds well for the Bears.
The Bears are 2nd in the NFL against the run, so ground yards will be DIFFICULT. And for the Bears, Matt Forte (who I love) may find running against the Patriots quite difficult.
So if you weigh on hand against the other, who does the edge go to? It goes to the Chicago Bears for one reason.....DEVIN HESTER...
Devin Hester has the ability to change the complexion of a game with a single run back for a touchdown. But more valuable is his ability to give the Bears great field position. And field position will be key to winning this game. Chicago Bears, 17 - 24
Yvonne’s Game of the Week: Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys
The 4-8 Dallas Cowboys play host to their conference rival and NFC East leader, the 8-4 Philadelphia Eagles.
The Cowboy are pretty much out of play-off contention, but this game is still one to watch.
The Cowboys are 3-1 since Jason Garrett was named head coach (I bet Jerry Jones is kicking himself, not getting rid of Wade Phillips earlier in the season).
They should be feeling pretty good about themselves, especially after last week’s performance against the Colts.
However, Philly is different from Indy. Rest assured, Michael Vick will not have a 4-interception game against the Cowboys. The cowboys are ranked 28th against the pass, and Michael Vick will make sure to take full advantage of this. The Eagles ground game should be in pretty good shape as well, facing a Dallas defense that allows 107 rushing yards per game as average, ranking 15th overall.
This game will be close. I expect the Cowboys to continue their upward trend. Still, I give the game to the Eagles. Philadelphia Eagles, 34-30

The Twins Week 13 Picks!!!
Yvonne’s Game of the Week: New York Jets @ New England
This matchup feels like a playoff game! Could it be, because both teams are at 9-2, and the winner of this duel takes sole possession of the AFC East? Could be. Probably. Definitely.
The Jets have been playing winning football, but have also been lucky on more than one occasion (a couple of missed field goals could easily have had them at 7-4). Patriots look like a total different team from the one that loss to the Jets in Week 2. The defense is still a bit porous, but the offense seems to be thriving without Moss, and Brady has found his stride. I give the offensive edge to the Pats, and the defensive edge to the Jets. And because they will be on their home turf, I’m choosing the Patriots, 20-27.
Yvette’s Game of the Week: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens
D-FENSE! D-FENSE! Whoever has the best defense wins the AFC North. Bottom line. This is always a great, physical battle so I anticipate a low scoring affair.
In the first meeting Baltimore came out on top. Will the outcome be different this time? Well it depends.
The Ravens aren’t really big time scorers with Joe Flacco at the helm. BUUUT, Big Ben Roethlisberger hasn’t been lights out either, although I would say Pittsburgh has the better QB.
The Ravens are dealing with some injuries that could hamper them. Safety, Dawan Landry being hurt could turn out to be a key to this game. But Big Ben is hobbled a bit with a sprained ankle. Everyone’s hurting this time of the year.
Man! So who’s gonna win?!?!
I think the edge goes to the Ravens and their running game featuring Ray Rice, who was injured when the teams faced in Week 4. If Flacco can take care of the ball against the hard hitting James Harrison and that tough Steelers D, I will give the win to Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore Raves: 21-17

The Twins have MUCH to be Thankful for!!!
Nothing is more precious than life and the time one has to share with family.And in this holiday season, it is important that we give thanks for those we love and the time we have together.
The news about Titans Offensive Coordinator, Coach Mike Heimerdinger, brings a week of nonsense with Vince Young into perspective.
October 15, 2010, we lost our father George Ellis Henley to a 17 year battle with prostate cancer. He fought this disease so hard and for so long, we almost took for granted that cancer could eventually take his life.
But it did.
Although we mourn his loss, we MOSTLY celebrate his life. And that life is something we are SO thankful for!
George Henley was born in 1932 during the Great Depression , in Birmingham, Alabama, in theJim Crow South. He went to the Air Force. And attended Lawson State Community College and Alabama A&M University, where he received a degeree in Building Contracting. He was extremely proud of his profession.
He owned his own company (G.E. Henley Construction Company) , and provide for us, and our mom until his illness no longer allowed him to do so.
We were always thankful that we had a good and strong father who worked his entire life to provide for our family, for as long as he could.
We are thankful for him, and his humor, and his ability to laugh thru adversity!
We are thankful for his love for Atlanta Braves baseball, and his love for sports, and that introduced it his twins as babies. Our mom likes to talk about her being pregnant with us, when daddy took her to watch Hank Aaron and his Homerun assault.
We are thankful he taught us to always look out for each other.
We are thankful that he taught us the strength and pride we should always have being born African-American, women and being educated, for there was a time that this would have been nearly impossible.
We are thankful that he believe that family is paramount in anyone’s journey through life.
And after 78 years on earth, we are also thankful that he no longer suffers, and is at peace in the Kingdom of God.
We are thankful for the life of George Ellis Henley. We are very thankful and grateful for us having him in our lives for as long as we did.
Be thankful for your life and all those in it! They all have a part in your journey and in your existence!
We are very thankful for you!
